Stanley P. Shimkoski

Stanley P. Shimkoski, 73, of Wilkes-Barre, PA, passed away on Friday, May 8, 2015 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.  He was the loving husband of Donna (McCabe) Shimkoski.  The couple shared over 40 happy years of marriage.

Stanley was born on January 1, 1942 in Dupont, PA, son of the late John and Anna (Stanish) Shimkoski.  He was a graduate of Dupont High School and was a US Army veteran, serving his country in the Viet Nam War.  In his youth, Stanley delivered milk for local farmers and later worked and retired from Tobyhanna as an electrical worker.  He was a member of the St. Robert Bellarmine Parish and the Dupont VFW.

Stanley is survived by his wife Donna, his sisters Theresa M. Shimkoski and Rose A. Pilkonis, his brother Robert (Diana) Shimkoski, all of Dupont, PA, along with several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers: John, Joseph, and Edward Shimkoski, and his sister Mary D’Agosta.

Family and friends are welcome to gather from 1:00-3:00 pm on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at the Kniffen-O’Malley Funeral Home, Inc. 465 South Main St. Wilkes-Barre, PA.  The memorial service to honor Stanley’s life will be held at the conclusion of the visitation at 3:00 pm on May 14th at the funeral home.  Burial will be private at the convenience of Stanley’s family in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Wilkes-Barre.
