Kniffen O’Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services is a family-owned and operated company that serves the families of the Avoca, Wilkes-Barre and surrounding areas. We have a committed and qualified staff that is available at all times to provide compassion, support and guidance. Our staff will work to provide an experience that reflects your loved one’s life and how you want them to be remembered. If you are thinking of choosing cremation, you should know that our crematory is privately owned and we only cremate for our funeral homes. We offer arrangements at our office or for those that are more comfortable, we can also come to your home. For out of town families or those who are not comfortable meeting in person, we also offer electronic arrangements. Our staff takes care of notifying social security, assisting with life insurance or any other benefits and applying for veteran’s benefits if applicable. We specialize in providing customized options which include personalized video tributes, customized music, displaying personal belongings and unique giveaways for those attending services. We also can arrange for services to be live streamed, coordinate butterfly releases, candle lighting ceremonies or anything else families would like. Our funeral home staff strives to achieve a personal connection with every family. Once your service is over, we are still here for you.
Our dedicated funeral directors and staff continue to serve the needs of the community. Our most valuable asset is our reputation and we maintain our success by continuing to receive the trust of the families we have served for generations. As a family owned funeral home, we are held accountable to you.
We offer a great opportunity for families to plan ahead so their wishes can be recorded and it also allows them to lock in today’s prices and make affordable monthly payments if needed.
We offer reading materials and an online database of grief support materials and resources. We can also connect you with a counselor in your area through our partner, DomaniCare. Finally, you will receive an invitation to our annual remembrance program. At the end of each year, before what can be a difficult holiday season, we host a gathering for all the families we have served to receive a message of hope and honor those who have been lost.
We understand the impact the economy has on our community at times. We know there will be families who need our help. We will sit down and discuss a service that will honor your loved one while working within your budget and causing undo financial burden. Please know we are compassionate and willing to help.
We understand how important being involved and helping in the community is. We sponsor teams, provide lunches for school children, deliver cakes to nursing homes, pick up trash and many other activities.
We strive to provide the best care and offer our service guarantee. If there is any item of our professional services or facilities that you are not completely satisfied with, there is no charge for that item. We take the risk out of selecting a funeral home.
Not all crematories are the same. Most funeral homes do not own and operate their own crematory. We own our crematory, so your loved one never leaves our care and we handle the process from start to finish. We know how difficult grieving can be and try to make coming into the funeral home a more comfortable process. Chloe, our pet therapy dog, sits in on arrangements and works viewings and funerals. She makes people feel more at ease and less uncomfortable.
Our funeral homes are modern, clean and comfortable. Please call us to schedule an appointment and compare our facilities to others in the area or click below to take a virtual tour.
Our funeral homes take pride in being able to serve all faiths and customs with respect and dignity. Even if we are not familiar with a particular custom, we will take the time to learn what we can do to accommodate your request.
We are continually improving, looking for new ways to serve our families and keep up with the latest technologies. Our staff keeps updated on new products and procedures and are encouraged to try new experiences they feel will help serve our families. We learn from our reviews and surveys how we can make your experience even better in the future.
