William L Baird. 94 of Plymouth died Sunday at his home surrounded by his family.
Born in Plymouth Township, August, 29, 1926 he was the son of the late Russell and Cora Baird. He was married for 56 years to his wife, Jean who passed away in 2004. They shared four beautiful children.
He attended Plymouth schools. He served in the United Stated Navy and was a War World II Veteran. He served 60 years with the Elm Hill Number #3 Hose Company. He served four years as the Chief of the Plymouth Fire Police. He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Wilkes-Barre. He was proud to be a member of the Masons. Prior to his retirement he was employed by Economy Lumber.
He was proceeded in death by his wife Jean, a daughter, Linda Jean Baird, his parents, five sisters, and three brothers.
Surviving are his sons William Jr and his wife Shirley, and Allen and his wife Sally both of Plymouth, and his daughter Brenda Kolaski of West Hazelton. His grandchildren, Barbara Harvey (Jeffery), William Baird (Tracey), Rhonda, Mary Jean Baird-Stanislow (Michael), Stephanie Mission, and Allen Baird Jr. His 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great granddaughters.
Our family expresses sincere appreciation to all the doctors, nurses, aides, VA Medical Center, and Hospice who helped care for William.
