Thomas J. Flannelly, 91, of Wilkes-Barre, former resident of Avoca and Daytona Beach, Florida, passed away Monday, May 15, 2023, at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Plains Twp.
Born in Moosic on January 25, 1932, he was a son of the late John and Elizabeth (Nicholson) Flannelly.
Thomas served in the United States Navy and served aboard the USS Salem and was a member of Queen of the Apostles Parish, Avoca. He was very sociable and enjoyed the company of his many friends and especially loved going out to eat with his family. Thomas was a racehorse enthusiast and liked going to Mohegan Sun Pocono Downs to watch the races.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several brothers and a sister.
Thomas is survived by daughters, Ann Marie Condon and husband, David and Bonnie Watson; son, Paul Flannelly; grandchildren, Ian Condon, Pamela Rivers and Juli Watson-Walsh; 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services were private for the family.
