Rosemarie (Pennella) Carey, 78, of Old Forge, passed away on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at Allied Service Hospice Center, Scranton.
Born in Taylor on February 6, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Patrick and Rose (DelVecchio) Pennella. Rosemarie married her husband Duane and together they had four children. She had worked at Topps and Panel Prints, but was best known for her baking and pizza making for Revello's and Brutico's. She was a devoted member of Prince of Peace Parish, formerly St. Mary’s Church, Old Forge.
In addition to her parents, Rosemarie was preceded in death by husband Duane; Son, Bruce P. Carey; granddaughter, Stephanie Carey, and brother, James Pennella.
Left to cherish her memory are sons; Mark J. Carey (Gina), Old Forge, Kevin D. Carey ( Rhea), Jessup; daughter, Debra A. Cholko (Michael), Hughestown; daughter-in-law, Maria Carey; grandchildren, Maggie Carey, Anthony Carey, Brandon Carey, Bruce Carey, Blake Carey, Bianca Carey, Zoey Carey, Elena Carey, Adam "AJ" Drechin, and Willa Carey; great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Piper Carey; sisters Patricia Domozych (Richard),Hopatcong, NJ., Mary Lou Verdetto, Old Forge, sister in law, Diane Pennella; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 16, 2021 at 10:00 AM, at Prince Of Peace Parish, 123 W. Grace Street, Old Forge. Friends may call at the church from 9:00 AM until the time of mass. Interment will follow at Old Forge cemetery.
