Robert Edward (Bob) Medley MTCS (SS) Retired, 56 of Melbourne, Florida, formerly of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania passed away on Friday, February 21, 2023 at his home.
Born in Wilkes-Barre on December 21, 1966, he was a son of the late William Lee “Junior” Medley, Sr who passed away on March 13, 2019 and Elizabeth “Sib” (Clark) Medley who passed
away on June 25, 2001.
Robert was a 1984 graduate of G.A.R. High School. He joined the United States Navy on March 3, 1985 and served his country proudly for 27 years. Throughout his career, Robert served as a
missile technician aboard USS Woodrow Wilson, USS Maine, USS Tennessee, USS Nebraska, and USS Louisiana. He also served as an instructor throughout his career.
After retiring as a Senior Chief in 2012, he went on to work in the private sector for 10 yearsbefore his untimely death. Robert was currently employed by Arcfield, Cape Canaveral, Florida, where he worked as a Research Associate.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his brother, the Reverend Brian D. Medley.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 32 years, Miki Lynn Roper-Medley ; his son, Robert E. Medley, Jr.; brother, William L. Medley, Jr (Denise).; sister Lisa Rosiak; Mother-in-law Mozell
Roper; Brother-in-law Whitney Roper; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and dear friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 105 Hill St., Wilkes-Barre with the Reverend Shawn Walker officiating. Visitation will start at 9:00 am till the time of the service at the church. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Hanover Township.
