Robert Bachman Obituary

Robert J. Bachman, 87, of Hanover Township (formerly of Sweet Valley), passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2024 at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore.

Born in Luzerne on May 6th, 1936, he was a son of the late Walter and Theresa (Sevenski) Bachman.   He was a graduate of King's College and served as a First Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps.

Robert took advantage of every opportunity to share his love for the Word of God with others.  He was generous and enjoyed helping others in any way he could.  He was Shriner and loved food and eating at good restaurants.  He was a member of Irem Temple Golf Club, having won numerous tournaments there, as well as playing golf courses all over the United States and in Bermuda.  He had a phenomenal memory, enjoying details from history and learning about the Jewish Heritage.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Bachman and a child of his heart, Michael.

Surviving is his wife, the former Marietta C. Bednar, whom he married on January 3, 1984; his daughter Amy Hesser and her husband, Carl;  daughter Abigail Bachman; granddaughter Aubriella Hesser; sisters Ann Ondish and her husband, Frank; Carol Coombs, Terri Haberstitch and Nanci Bachman; child of his heart, Nancy; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.   Special thanks to his cousins, Paul and Bill Bachman, who shared a special place in his life.

A memorial Service will be held at a later date.  The family asks that, in memory of Robert, you take an opportunity to reach out and extend a special kindness to someone in need.
