Richard W. Robins, Sr. (Rick), 77 of Hanover Green, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2023, at Allied Services Hospice Center, Wilkes-Barre after a two year brave battle with cancer.
Born in Wilkes-Barre on July 27, 1946, he was the son of the late George H. Robins, Jr. and Jessie L. (Mott) Robins.
He was a graduate of E.L. Meyers High School Class of 1964.
Richard served in the United States Army and prior to retiring, he worked as a Sheet Metal Mechanic for Craft Metal Products in Sugar Notch.
He enjoyed carpentry, collecting model trains, browsing the flea markets, watching Nascar races and, in his younger years, restoring old cars. In later years, he enjoyed watching cooking shows and loved to be outside cutting his grass on his tractor. He especially loved spending time with his beloved dog, Bee, his family and his good friends at Austie’s Family Restaurant, Hanover Twp.
He is survived by his son, Richard W. Robins, Jr. and wife, Tricia; daughter, Judith
Robins; grandchildren, Richard M. Robins, Rachael Luton and Derek Robins; sisters, Diane Albrecht and Cheryl Trebunak; niece, Jill Albrecht and several cousins.
The funeral service will be held Friday at 11:00 AM at Kniffen O’Malley Leffler Funeral & & Cremation Services, 465 S. Main St. Wilkes-Barre. Interment with military honors will follow in Bloomingdale Cemetery, Shickshinny.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM on Friday.
