Raymond Beverly Obituary

Raymond E. Beverly, Jr. was born on September 15, 1954 in Harlem Hospital to his loving and devoted Parents Raymond E. Beverly, Sr. and Emma L. Beverly who preceded him in death. Raymond’s parents did not want to raise him in Harlem so they relocated to St. Albans, Queens. As a child Raymond attended P.S 15 in Queens, he then went to JHS 59 also in Queens. Raymond attended Martin Van Buren HS also in Queens.

As a young boy Raymond belonged to the Boy Scouts Troop of the St. Albans Presbyterian Church located around the corner from where Raymond grew up. As he got older he then joined the Cadets also based in Queens. Raymond’s parents believed in keeping him occupied as a child so since they were members of the Masons and Eastern Stars they had him in the Juvenile Circle which is the children’s division of those memberships. As a young adult Raymond became interested in motorcycles so his parents bought him one and he began to roar thru the streets of Queens, NY and joined the Cobra motorcycle club which is where he met his wife Saundra. Saundra and Raymond got married in 1974 and they were blessed with the birth of a baby girl who they named Zenobia.

Raymond then became employed with the Brinks Security Company to support his family. When his marriage to Saundra ended he moved to Harlem where he met Acquanetta, the mother of his two sons, Rayptah and O’sha. New York was becoming a place he no longer desired to live and he relocated to Pennsylvania to live.

On February 1, 2021 God came to take his solider home and Raymond gained his wings. He leaves to mourn his passing his daughter, Zenobia, two sons Rayptah and O’sha, his three grandchildren, Tyrek, Sorraya and Kimberly, his sister Stephanie and two nephews, Russell and Raymond and a host of relatives and friends.

We love you Raymond and rest well as you watch over us and may your eternal rest be peaceful. You are now reunited with your parents and tell them we said hello.
