Natalie E. Tippett, 76, formerly of Bear Creek Twp., passed away on December 16, 2021, at Kingston Health Care Center.
Born on November 15, 1945, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Cora (Hahn) Tippett.
She graduated from Coughlin High School in 1963 and attended Wilkes College, and Bloomsburg State University. She also completed numerous American Institute of Banking classes. Her working career started as a teller at First Eastern Bank. She advanced to the position of manager and eventually, assistant vice president, the second female to achieve this position at a bank. She retired several years after PNC took over First Eastern Bank.
When Landmark Community Bank started to organize, she once again got involved to help with their organization and became branch manager at the Forty Fort office. She finally retired from banking in 2012.
She was past president of Soroptimist International of Wilkes Barre. She was a member of Albright United Methodist Church and served on its Trustee Board. She also became its treasurer for many years. Natalie’s community work included helping with Kings College and Wilkes College fund drives, United Way, and volunteering with Dinners for Kinds.
Natalie liked being outdoors, doing yard work at home in Trailwood, and at her church. She liked cars; antique and sports, she had several. She liked helping others and was always available to assist in projects. She was a smart and clever person who could solve many problems she or her friends came upon. She enjoyed traveling, made several trips to Europe, a trip to Panama, and experienced a ski trip out west.
She is survived and will be especially missed by her dear friend, Sharon, by her sister, Carolyn Burke, and nieces, Carol Burke, and Joan McDonald.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at 10:00 AM with Pastor Craig Gomer officiating. Friends may call Monday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and Tuesday, December 21, from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM, at Kniffen O’Malley Leffler Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. Wilkes Barre. A graveside service will follow at 11:00 AM in Oaklawn Cemetery, Hanover Twp.
