Maureen P. (McCabe) DeChant, 87, of Hanover Township, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, at the home of her daughter.
Born in Hudson, on April 3, 1935, she was a daughter of the late James and Mary (Scone) McCabe.
She worked as a seamstress for various sewing local factories. Maureen was a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Parish. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, great and great great grandchildren.
Maureen was preceded in death by; her husband, Anthony E. DeChant, Sr., who died in August of 1997, and several brothers and sisters.
Surviving is her loving daughter, Katherine Adams and her husband, Joseph, Hanover Township, her loving son, Anthony E. DeChant, Jr. and his wife, Lisa Marie, Wilkes-Barre, 7 grandchildren, numerous great and great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Private Services will be held at the convenience of the family with Interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township. Services have been entrusted to Kniffen O’Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services, Wilkes-Barre.
