Mary C. (Chajko) Randazzo

Mary C. (Chajko) Randazzo, 92, of West Wyoming, passed away April 22, 2024, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, surround by her family.

Born in Swoyersville on April 9, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Yednak) Chajko.

Mary worked in the garment industry and retired from Small Town Factory. She was a member of St. Monica’s Parish, West Wyoming but her heart belonged to St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Swoyersville and enjoyed singing in the choir for both parishes.  Mary loved cooking and memorizing recipes, never having to write them down.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Michael Randazzo; brothers, Joe and Michael Chajko; son-in-law, Jeff Woodworth and daughter-in-law, Kim Randazzo.

Mary is survived by her loving husband of almost 72 years, Luciana “Louis” Randazzo; daughter, Lisa Woodworth; sons, Vincent Randazzo (Mary K) and Louis Randazzo; grandchildren, Captain John L. Randazzo (Laura), Luciana Pittman (Mike), Vanessa Considine (Brett), Kristin Randazzo and Joshua and Saul Woodworth; great grandchildren, Joey and Mia Randazzo, Cannon and Finn Pittman and Emma LaBar.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Doctors, Nurses, and E.R. Staff at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, including Dr. Saunders, Nurse Medaja, Dr. Rodriguez; Nurses, Ann, Molly, and Garrett; Brittany; therapists, Sharon, Chrissy, Marcy and Wendy, and Dr. Mike and Dr. Zhang.

The funeral Mass will Thursday at 10:00 AM at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, 271 Tripp St., Swoyersville, 18704. Please go directly to the church if attending. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Officiating will be Father Andrii Dumnych. Arrangements were entrusted to Kniffen O’Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services.
