Lynn Wallace Obituary

Lynn B. Wallace, formerly of Laflin, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2023, at the age of 86, surrounded by her loved ones at Kingston Nursing and Rehab in Kingston, PA. 

 

Lynn was born on December 10, 1936, in Scranton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Evelyn (Hammond) Wells. After Lynn graduated from Elmer L. Meyers High School in 1954, she went on to study nursing at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital School of Nursing graduating in 1957.

 

Lynn dedicated her career to helping others as a registered nurse, first at Mercy hospital in Wilkes-Barre then at NPW Hospital in Plains Township. Finally retiring from Wesley Village in Jenkins Township. She was a member of St. Maria Goretti Church, Laflin.

She had a genuine love for animals, especially cats and loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed spending time reading, completing sudoku and crossword puzzles. In her younger years she obtained her pilot’s license and enjoyed flying Cessna twin engine planes.

 

Lynn is preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald E. Wallace, who passed in 2009. She leaves behind her two sons, Albert W. Wallace and his wife, Kirsten of Bear Creek Township, PA, and John J. Wallace and his wife, Anne, of Mountain Top, PA, as well as her cherished grandson, Dylan Wallace, a sister Susan Hall, Jupiter, Fl, one niece and one nephew.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff of Kingston Nursing & Rehab and Compassionate Care Hospice.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held to honor Lynn's life and legacy on 10:00 AM, Friday, June 2nd at St. Maria Goretti Church, 42 Redwood Drive, Laflin, with Father Alex Roche.  Lynn will always be remembered for her kind heart, her dedication to her family, and her unwavering love of animals.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Humane Society at Humanesociety.org or Compassionate Care Hospice, 1444 East Lackawanna St.
