Obituary

Leokadya “Louise” Bartos (Bartush), 95, of Scranton, passed away January 22, 2023 at Mountain View Care Center, Scranton.

Born in Duryea on August 18, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Pauline (Zarkowski) Bartush. She attended Avoca schools.

Louise was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus, Dupont. She also belonged to the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Pleasant Valley Girls and the Red Hat Society.

She worked at the Silk Mill, Consolidated Molding Products and Putnam Books.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, John, Anthony, Andrew and Edwin and sisters, Helen Voyack, Josephine Massakowski and Regina Bartish.

Louise is survived by sister, Joan (Bartush) Voyack, Wellsville; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 215 Lackawanna Ave., Dupont. Officiating will be Rev. Father Thomas J. Petro.

Family and friends may pay their respects from 9:00AM – 10:00 AM at Kniffen O’Malley Leffler Funeral and Cremation Services, 728 Main St. Avoca.
