Josephine Mary Degnan, 82, a life resident of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Sunday at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Josephine was born in Wilkes-Barre on March 17, 1936. She was the daughter of the late Andrew and Margaret (Kuhl) Partika.
Josephine attended G.A.R. Memorial High School and was employed as a seamstress in the garment industry for many years. Josephine loved the outdoors. In her younger days she enjoyed traveling and camping and loved caring for animals. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Josephine was preceded in death by her husband; Edward Degnan. Children; Deborah, Donna and Edward Degnan. Brother; Andrew Partika. Companion; Alfred Adams.
Surviving are daughters; Kimberly Campbell; Susan Martin; and her husband, Donald. Patricia Mangold; and her husband, Robert. Sons; David Degnan; Michael Degnan and his wife, Cindy. Ten grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter also survive. Sister; Margaret Masterson.
Funeral services for Josephine will be held on Friday at 9:30am from Kniffen O’Malley Leffler Funeral and Cremation Services Inc. 465 South Main Street Wilkes-Barre with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Nicholas Church, South Washington Street, Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be held in Oaklawn Cemetery, Wilkes-Barre. Family and friends may call on Thursday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Friday from 8:30am until time of service at 9:30am.
