Obituary


Joseph C. Sekelsky Sr., 56, of Duryea, passed away unexpectedly on Monday February 13, 2023, at his home.


Born in Taylor, PA on February 24, 1966, he was the son of the late Edmund and Rita (Jopling) Sekelsky.


Joe was a graduate of Pittston Area High School, where he later went on to become self-employed in the plumbing & heating industry. He loved spending time with his family, especially his sons. He was a great father, always spending time on sports, such as Quarter Midget Racing and Hockey, along with working on different hobbies together with his boys. He enjoyed watching and coaching sports for his boys, Camping, Nascar racing, and was an avid model train enthusiast. He adored his dogs; Jax, Bailey, Leila, and Lilly. He was a member of Queen of the Apostles Parish, Avoca. 


Joe is survived by his loving wife, Kathy (Harper) Sekelsky, sons; Joseph Sekelsky Jr., Bryan Sekelsky; brother, Michael Sekelsky, niece; Karen Zelinski, Alyssa Sekelsky, nephew; Shawn Sekelsky.
