Joseph T. Borosky, 82 passed away peacefully at home on April 6th. He was born at home in Wyoming on September 20th, 1940 to the late Joseph and Helen Borosky. He graduated from Exeter High School in 1958. Joseph joined the army in 1960. He proudly served his country from 1960 to 1963 and was in the active reserves from 1963-1966. He was stationed in Frankfort, Germany with the Third Armored Division. He was a proud Army Ranger, in the Special Forces, a paratrooper, and was in the Long-Range Reconnaissance Patrol. He was also an Expert Marksman, and often said he could shoot the whiskers off a fly. Joseph was a Past Master of Valley Lodge No. 499 and was a member of the Plains American Legion. He was a former member of the Irem Shriners and a Scottish Rite Mason. He worked for many years for Blue Cross/Blue Shield as a Medicare consultant, and then retired from Valley Crest Nursing Home where he was the Medicare Administrator. Preceding him in death was his wife, Martha, who passed away in September 2022. Joe and Martha celebrated 54 years of marriage in 2022. He is survived by two sons Jeff and his wife Jeanette, Scott and his wife Kristen. He is also survived by his loving granddaughter Katlynne, and good friend Richard Gallagher.
Family and friends may pay their respects Saturday from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Kniffen O’Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services, 465 S. Main St., Wilkes-Barre. A Masonic service will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private for the family.
