Johnny King, 67, passed away on July 30, 2023, at Maple Ridge Rehab & Health Care Center in Kingston.
He was born on May 23, 1956, in Jacksonville, Florida, he was a son of the late Mudgar and Anna Mae (Colzie) King.
He was deeply committed to his faith and attended services at the Apostolic Lighthouse Church.
Throughout his life, Johnny found fulfillment in his occupation, working in Food Service at Red Rock Job Corp. in Lopez, PA.
He persevered with deep faith in Jesus as his hope, salvation and deliverer! Johnny was a caring soul who touched the lives of many with his stoic and gentle spirit. He adored and loved his family and held them as a treasure.
He is survived by his loving children: Teneca Harris and her husband, Christopher Mims, as well as his stepdaughters, Jasmen Watt and Sybil Harris. Johnny's legacy extends to his adored grandchildren: Auhmeer, Nalasjia, Allycia, Isaiah, Patricia, Symone, Zyrae, Nathaniel, Elijah, and Deidra, as well as his great-grand daughter, Serenity Rose, and caregiver Patricia Harris. Johnny also leaves behind his siblings, who were his pillars of support: Deborah & Chester Baum, Linda & James Lyons, Maria & Charlie King Chaney, and brother William Charles King, a host of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and a wide circle of cousins, all of whom he cherished dearly.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 7th, at 4pm at Kniffen O'malley Leffler Funeral Home, 465 S. Main Street, Wilkes-Barre with Evangelist Maria King Chaney. Friends and family may attend the viewing from 3:00pm till the time of the service.
