John A. Miller, Jr., passed away unexpectedly on March 5th at his home. He was 44 years old.
Mr. Miller was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pa on March 28, 1979. He attended Kistler Elementary and graduated from E.L. Meyers High School, class of 1997, as well as Harris Computer Institute.
John loved to drive and earned a living at various businesses ending with STA for Wilkes-Barre Area School District and finally with G. Davis, Inc., for the Dallas School District. He really cared about the safety and well-being of the children entrusted to him. He also had a special place in his heart for elderly people as well as vulnerable animals.
John loved photography, hiking, mountain biking, motorcycle riding with his dad, and enjoying nature’s beauty in general. He had a real passion for history, geography, foreign languages, and religion.
A visitation and memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 27th, at 3:00 PM at The Firwood UM Church located at 399 Old River Rd. in South Wilkes-Barre. Reverand Craig Gommer will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution in John’s memory to your favorite animal no-kill shelter. That would mean a lot to us. He will be loved and truly missed by all of us who knew him well.
Rest in peace, Son!
