John R. DeBoard, Jr.

John R. DeBoard, Jr., 25, of Avoca, passed away Saturday, August 27, 2022.

Born in Scranton on December 11, 1996, he was a son of John R. Sr. and Lynn (Zajac) DeBoard.

John graduated with an associate degree from Johnson College and was employed as an Electrical Technician at the AZEK Company, Moosic.

John was an outdoor enthusiast and loved to go camping, hunting, and fishing. He was very mechanically inclined and loved to take stuff apart to fix or create something new. John was also an Eagle Scout.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Nicholas Zajac; paternal grandparents, Herman and Loretta DeBoard; aunt, Sherry Dunn and Uncle Sam Deboard.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving parents, John R. Sr. and Lynn (Zajac) DeBoard; brothers, James and Jason DeBoard; maternal grandmother, Pauline Zajac; aunts, Michele Zajac and husband, Mark Jeffers, Deborah Brouillette and husband, Joseph, and Loretta Maria DeBoard; uncles, William Zajac and wife, Valerie and Herman DeBoard and wife, Linda; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many great friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 10:30 AM at Nativity of Our Lord at Holy Rosary Parish, 127 Stephenson St, Duryea 18642. Please go directly to the church if attending. Interment will be private for the family.
