Jade Jolene (Jenkins) Brown, 53, of Denmark, passed away Friday, March 6, 2020, at The Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg, SC.
Born on July 31, 1966 in Scranton, PA, she was a daughter of the late Everett R and Charlene Jenkins. She was a graduate of South Carolina State College (University) earning her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
She worked at Voorhees College in Denmark, SC for 19 years in various roles, the most recent being Director of Financial Compliance. She started at Voorhees in June, 2000 as a Staff Accountant in the Payroll department. She then moved on to become Executive Assistant to the President, Director of Title III, Budget Analyst, and Board Liaison. During her time at the college, she received numerous awards and participated in numerous school events.
She was preceded in death by her Mother Charlene Jenkins and Father Everett Ray Jenkins Sr. Left to cherish her memory is her son, J’Von Alexander Jenkins of Denmark, SC; her brothers Everett Ray Jenkins Jr. and his wife, Lakenia, of O’Fallon, MO.; Jason Jarrod Jenkins and his wife, Stephanie, of Charleston, SC; and her nieces and nephews Alante, Jason II, Madyson, and Everett III.
Memorial services will be held March 11, 2020 at 2 pm at Voorhees College Massachusetts Hall at 151 Academic Circle Denmark, SC 29042. Suffragan Bishop Michael Butler of Victory Tabernacle Deliverance Temple will officiate. Friends and family may drop in from 12:00 noon to 1:30 PM on March 11, 2020 at Voorhees College Massachusetts Hall at 151 Academic Circle Denmark, SC 29042. Friends may call at Simmons Funeral Home of Orangeburg, SC.
Burial services will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Hanover Township, in Wilkes-Barre, PA on March 14 at 11 am. It was Jade’s wish to be buried next to her Mother, and the family wishes to honor that request. Friends and family may call or visit on the morning of March 14 from 9 am until 10:45 am at Kniffen O'Malley Leffler Funeral Home Inc., 465 S. Main St., Wilkes-Barre.
