Gladys L. (Remphrey) Thompson, 93, of Plymouth, passed away on Monday, September 26, 2022, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital, Wilkes Barre.
Born in Wilkes Barre, She was a daughter of the late Walter and Henrietta (Hughes) Remphrey.
Gladys was a 1946 graduate of G.A.R. High school, and went on to work in the garment industry. She was the secretary of the Sherman Hills Social Club. Gladys was strong in her faith. She attended Albright United Methodist Church, Wilkes Barre. She loved all of God's children, enjoyed playing bingo, and was an avid needle worker, and crocheter. She is and will always be our favorite gladiola.
In addition to her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, Elwood J. Thompson, sons, Elwood W. Thompson, and George Thompson, brother, Fred Remphrey, and sisters, Marion Flynn and Marjorie Remphrey.
Left to cherish her memory are daughters, Linda Mikolaicik (Robert), Hopewell, VA, Helen Costello (Florian), Plymouth PA, Debbie Daniel, Molino, FL, son, Thomas Thompson (Elizabeth), Nanticoke, PA, 15 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, brother, Walter Remphrey (Marie), Kingston, PA, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Services will be privately held at the convenience of the family. In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the ASPCA of Luzerne County.
