Gertrude J. Woodward

Gertrude J. Woodward, 93, of Wilkes-Barre, went home to the Lord on December 16, 2020, at Riverstreet Manor, Wilkes-Barre.

Born on October 2, 1927, in Cleveland, OH, she was the daughter of Frank and Mildred (Thurston) Kozlow.  

Gertrude was a missionary nurse for Worldwide Evangelisation for Christ (WEC International) in Indonesia for over 42 years, retiring in 2001.  She enjoyed doing puzzles, reading and spending time with family.

She was preceded in death by; her husband, Fred L. Woodward, who passed away on December 23, 2001, a daughter, Tabitha Shotyk,  and a daughter in law, Connie Woodward.

Surviving are her loving daughter, Lydia Cummings and her husband, Jim, Wilkes-Barre, two loving sons, Caleb, Wilkes-Barre and Nathan and Tina Woodward, Sweet Valley, 8 grandchildren, Bethany, Kenny, Caitlyn, and Jackie Shotyk, Joshua, Charity and Faith Cummings, Portia Woodward, 6 great grandchildren, Harvey, Noah, Judah, Abigail, Kyson and one on the way due in April, a son in law, Doug Shotyk.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday from 4:00PM to 6:00 PM at Calvary Bible Chapel, 362 Hunlock Harveyville Rd., Hunlock Creek, PA 18621.  

Private Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
