Dr. Gerry Leeson started life in Pringle, Pennsylvania in 1927, grandson of Irish immigrants and son of a coal miner, with sisters Marie and Peggy. Gerry lost his father at a young age, but through his service with the U.S. Army, he was able to put himself through college, eventually earning his Ph.D. in Pharmacology from the University of Manitoba. At his side were his wife, Jean Leeson, married since 1959, and his four often unruly children, Sandra, Andrea, Keith, and Chris. The Leeson family eventually settled in the Cincinnati suburbs, making West Chester their home. Gerry spent his career in the pharmaceutical industry developing new medicines for our most common illnesses. He cared fiercely for his family, encompassing not only his wife and children, but his children's spouses, his sisters, grandchildren, great-grandchild, nieces, and nephews. He was in turn cared for by many, including much love and support from Heather Golden and Carolyn Leeson in his last years. He was a man that people could and did depend on, and he leaves a beautiful legacy in his family and friends, and a lesson for all in what fatherhood should be.
