George Tsioles Obituary

George Tsioles, 99, of Kingston, passed away Friday morning, April 30, 2021, at his home while surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Tsioles was born in Levidi, Greece, on April 23, 1922, the son of the late Nicholas and Ekaterine Tsioles. He was a life member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, Wilkes-Barre and an active member of AHEPA. He was also a veteran of WWII.

George and his late wife, Fotini, born in Levidi, Greece, raising a family of four, moved to Pennsylvania in 1971. When he moved to the states, he became the owner of a Mr. Donut Franchise and later became the founder of Curry Donuts. He was a hardworking man and when he had a few minutes to spare, he loved hanging out with his friends at the coffee shop. He took multiple trips to visit his hometown with his late wife. George was a loving father and caring husband.

Surviving are his sons Nick (Cindy) Tsioles and Ted (Michele) Tsioles; his daughters Cathy (Peter) Theodorelos and Christina (Theodore) Spyroupoulos. He also leaves behind 12 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 1 brother and several nieces and nephews.

The family will be present to receive friends Monday from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. at Kniffen O’Malley Leffler Funeral Home, 465 South Main St, Wilkes-Barre. A Trisagion Service will be held at 6:00 P.M. Please observe social distancing and CDC protocols.

Funeral services will be private for family in Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, with interment following in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Hanover Township.
