Edward C Hayes

Edward C. Hayes, Jr., 60, of Wilkes Barre, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Wilkes Barre.

Born on July 31, 1962 in Washington DC, he was a son of the late Edward C. Hayes Sr. and Reathella (James) Simpson.

Edward enjoyed spending time with his family, playing chess, and liked watching movies. He left a lasting impact on everyone he met.

In addition to his parents, Edward was preceded in death by sisters, Ethella Mae Palmer, and Lynn Knox, and a brother, Ivan Simpson.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Dawn (Coleman) Hayes; daughter, Maria Carter (Jamaal Carter), Brandywine, MD; step kids Kyle Glover and Katica Glover; 12 grandchildren, Ava Carter, Kayden Carter, Kayla Glover, Keyshawn Glover, Marquis Howard, Korah Glover, David Glover, Gianna Glover, Khalil White, King-Jalen, Karissa, and Kaleb Spade; great grandchild, Luna Bert; and brothers, Lester Simpson and Edward Simpson Jr.; sisters, Grace Simpson and Bonita Simpson; brother in law William Knox, Gregory Coleman, Stephan Coleman, Anthony Coleman, sister in law’s, Melanie Thompson, Deborah Coleman, Crystal Dubose; several nieces and nephews. 

A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family on Friday, January 20, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Quality Inn 880 Kidder St, Wilkes-barre, PA 18702.
