Catherine A. (Roberts) Mendoza

Catherine A. (Roberts) Mendoza, 102, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away on Tuesday, May 4, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, on August 6, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Ernest James and Anna Maie (Middaugh) Roberts.

Catherine enjoyed spending time with all of her family and lived a full life remaining independent till her passing.

She was a member of Wyoming Valley Presbyterian Church, Wilkes-Barre. 

Catherine was preceded in death by; her loving husband, Jesse F. Mendoza, who passed away on February 13, 1993, three loving sons, Richard, James and William Mendoza, and three brothers, James, Harry and William Roberts.

Surviving are; four loving daughters, Sarah Wells, Chambersburg, Christina Hampel, Wilkes-Barre, Rebecca Davenport, Wilkes-Barre, Regina Walkowiak and her husband Frank Wilkes-Barre, two loving sons, Gilbert and his wife, Peggy, Wilkes-Barre, Manuel and his wife, Claire, Wilkes-Barre, 25 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, May 9, at Kniffen O’Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services, 465 S. Main Street, Wilkes-Barre from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Reverend Adam Demetros , Pastor of Wyoming Valley Presbyterian Church.  Interment will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hanover Township.
