Carl Jaslar, 72, of Hanover Township, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Allied Services, Meade Street, Wilkes-Barre, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA to the late Stanley and Lillian (Birmer) Jaslar, he resided at his childhood home with his loving wife for over 51 years.
Mr. Jaslar served in the US Coast Guard from 1967-1971 where he was stationed in Fire Island, NY, aboard the search and rescue cutter Point Herron. He later retired from the Hanover Area School District where he worked in the maintenance department.
Carl loved everything outdoors. Whether it was clamming, crabbing, fishing, hunting or camping, it was always spent with his two brothers, sons, nieces, nephews, grandkids and his longtime friend, Joe Gabriesheski.
Mr. Jaslar was preceded in death by his brothers, Stanley “Bud” Jaslar and John “Butch” Jaslar.
He is survived by his loving wife, Maureen “Sue” Jaslar; his sons, Michael (Amy) Jaslar and Torrey (Dina) Jaslar; and his cherished grandchildren, Paige, Nathan, Gianna and Shaina, along with many nieces and nephews.
A private service with military honors will be held at the convenience of the family from Kniffen O’Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services.
The family would like to thank Dr. Greenwald and his entire staff for their overwhelming compassionate care over the past 12 years. They would also like to thank the wonderful staff at Allied Services, Meade Street, for their exceptional care during his final days and hours.
