Obituary

Carl M. Coveleski, 90, of Wilkes Barre, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022, at his home.

Born in Wilkes Barre on November 11, 1931, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Coveleski.

Raised in Georgetown, Carl was one of 11 children. He loved to travel, watch horse racing, and go to the gym throughout his life. Carl was a proud veteran of The United States Army. While serving his country, he became a Bronze Star recipient and received the nickname "Jet" because he was always running.

In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Coveleski; brothers, Joseph, Walter, and Ronald; sisters, Florence, Geraldine, and Marie.

Left to cherish his memory are sons Carl Coveleski, Hanover Twp., Paul Coveleski (Pamela), Hunlock Creek; daughter, Darlene Simmons (David), Axton, VA.; grandchildren, Chuck Simmons, Allison Simmons; great-granddaughter, Abigail; brother, Richard Coveleski; sisters; Kathelene, and Stella; several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 16, 2022, at 10:00 AM, at Kniffen O'Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. 465 S. Main St. Wilkes Barre, with Reverend Marcelle Dotson officiating. Friends may call from 9:00 AM until the time of services. Interment with military honors will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Twp.
