Obituary

Reverend Brian D. Medley Sr., 63, of Wilkes-Barre, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

 Born in Wilkes-Barre on September 2, 1956, he was a son of the late William L.”Junior”  Medley and Elizabeth (Clark) Medley.  He was a graduate of G.A.R. High School.

After serving over 20 years in the United States Army from 1974 to 1995, he retired in the position of a Staff Sergeant executing and distributing orders for armory supply. He was deployed in various locations such as the Pentagon, Fort Belvoir, Fort Lee and numerous other military bases.

 Rev. Medley was a member of Harvest Assembly Baptist Church, Alexandria, VA and he also attended New Covenant Christian Fellowship Church, Wilkes-Barre. He began evangelizing and teaching the gospel in 1997 became the Men’s Ministry Leader for Harvest Assembly Baptist Church from 2003-2007 and with his strong engagement in his faith he had the chance to become an ordained minister in 2010.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James Medley.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, Brian D. (Bubba)Jr (Kimmy)., Stafford, VA; daughters Evrin Shanell, and Carla, Macon, GA and Jayda, NC; Grandchildren, Isaiah, Marqkel, Iarie, Mehki, Arieyah, and Nehemi siblings, William L.  Medley, Jr (Denise), Lisa (Steve) Rosiak, and Robert Medley Sr (Mik’), and a host of nieces and nephews.

Homegoing services will be held at 12:00 PM Monday, March 9 at New Covenant Christian Fellowship Church. 780 S. Main St, Wilkes-Barre PA 18702. Family and friends may visit from

11:00 – 12:00 PM. Officiating will be Pastor Johnny Abram, Harvest Assembly Baptist Church.

Interment will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Hanover Twp.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Kniffen O’Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 465 South Main St., Wilkes-Barre.
