Bishop Korea Asbury, 36, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away unexpectedly on December 16, at home, after being stricken ill.
Born on June 22, 1984 in Brooklyn, NY, he was a son of the late Bishop Junior Asbury and Crystal Pemberton, Wilkes-Barre. He was a graduate of Automotive High School, Brooklyn, NY. Bishop was of the Baptist faith, enjoyed playing chess, video games and basketball.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by; his grandfather, Emanuel Pemberton, Sr., who died July 10, 2020.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by 2 sons, Stephon Carpenter and Marcus, 2 brothers, Maurice L. Asbury, Wilkes-Barre, Richard Asbury, Brooklyn, NY, a sister, Geneva Jones, Brooklyn, NY, step father, John Fitzgerald Stagg, several nieces and nephews, aunts, Gail Pemberton, Louise Asbury, Denise Evans, Uncles, Emanuel Pemberton, Jr., Harry Asbury, Thomas Asbury, Ricky Asbury, Cousins Anika Johnson, Laziya Johnson, Arthur Evans, Kenneth Evans, Meme Asbury, and host of relatives.
Private Services will be held on Wednesday at 2:00PM at Kniffen O’Malley Leffler Funeral and Cremation Services, 465 S. Main Street, Wilkes-Barre. The service will be streamed on the funeral home Facebook- https://www.facebook.com/kniffenfuneralhome
