Victoria B (Rakowski) Zinga

Victoria B. Zinga, 101, of Wilkes-Barre and formerly of Sugar Notch, passed away on March 14, 2024, at The Gardens of Wyoming Valley.

Born in Sugar Notch on April 27, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Felix and Mary (Sokolowski) Rakowski.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Church of the Immaculate Conception of Wilkes-Barre and received her education at Sugar Notch High School.

She was preceded in death by son, John; daughter, Bernadine and son in law, Vito Zerillo; brothers, Joseph, Frank, Steve, Stanley, and William; sisters, Bridget Schacka, Cecelia Johnson, Mary Candiracci, and two infant sisters; , Frank and Ronald Schwartz.

Surviving are daughter in law, Linda Zinga, grandchildren, Joyce Schwartz Janosky and her husband, William, Kris Schwartz, John Zinga, Edward Zinga and his wife, Sarah, and Katy Lee Zinga; great grandchildren, Holly, John Ryan,  Brooke, Julia, Ronnie, Emily, Frank Jr., Hannah and Ryan; great-great grandchildren, JD, Scarlett, Quinn, Owen, Finn, Eden, Autumn, Sawyer, Aria, Sophie. Ellyrae and Harper; as well as several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Mary’s Church, 134 S. Washington Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701.

A visitation will be held on a Friday, March 22nd at St. Mary’s Church of the Immaculate Conception on from 9:00AM to 10:00 AM with Mass of Christian at 10:00 AM with Interment to follow at Mother of God Mausoleum at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hanover Township, PA.Arrangements have been entrusted to Kniffen O’Malley Leffler Funeral and Cremation Services, Wilkes-Barre.
