Victor F. Helmbold, 93, of Tunkhannock, passed away peacefully at his daughter’s home in Hanover Twp., surrounded by his loving family on Monday, December 19, 2022.
Born in Plymouth on May 20, 1929, he was a son of the late Andrew and Emma (Hildebrand) Helmbold.
After graduation, Victor Honorable served in the United States Army. He attended Penn State University and became a mining engineer. He worked the Plymouth mine. Following his mining career, he was owner and operator of his family business, Helmbold Press. He enjoyed spending time with his family. Victor was an antiques dealer. He was also an avid Penn State fan. Most of all, he enjoyed the times he spent fishing in Canada.
In addition to his parents, Victor was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen S. (Montigney) Helmbold, daughter, Ellen; son in law, Michael; brothers, Clark, Andrew, and Wilbur.
Left to cherish his memory are daughter, Florena Shovlin, Karen Weiss (William), Audrey Cebulko and companion, Anthony; 10 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandsons.
A viewing will be held Monday evening, December 26, 2022, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Kniffen O’Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 465 S. Main St. Wilkes-Barre. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Oak lawn cemetery, Wilkes Barre.
