Thomas M. Sokolas

Thomas "Tommy" M. Sokolas, 65, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore. 

Born in Wilkes-Barre on December 24, 1960, he was a son of the late John Sokolas and Helen Yelland. 

Prior to retiring, Tommy worked as a scheduler at American Silk Mills, Plains. He enjoyed spending time with his grandson, Matthew and going fishing. He also loved watching the Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies, Sixers and Flyers.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Herbert, John, Charles and James Sokolas. 

Tommy is survived by his son, Matthew Sokolas, Sr. and his wife, Michelle Levy; grandson, Matthew Sokolas, Jr.; brother, Russell Sokolas and several nieces and nephews. 

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday at 6:00 PM at Kniffen O'Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services, 465 S. Main St, Wilkes-Barre. Family and friends may visit from 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM.
