Thomas J. Sherwood, 82, of Harveys Lake, passed away, Thursday, January 25, at Celtic Hospice, Wilkes-Barre.

Born in Nanticoke on January 31, 1935, he was a son of the late Margaret (Coulter) and Thomas Sherwood.

Thomas served in the Navel Reserves and then the United States Army in 1958. He then went on to work as a vocational counselor for the Vocational Rehabilitation Office in Wilkes-Barre for over 28 years.

Thomas was an avid reader on a wide variety of subjects. He especially enjoyed socializing and could carry on a conversation with anyone.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Anne (Price) Sherwood.

Thomas is survived by a brother, Brian Sherwood & wife, Melanie; brothers and sisters in law, Howard and Lillian Gola and David and Joanne Price;  nieces, Heide Sherwood, Deidre Otto and husband, John, Michelle Dotzel and husband, Michael and a nephew, Paul Gola.

Private services with burial in Scott Cemetery, Waterton, were held for the family. Kniffen O’Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. were entrusted with arrangements.
