Theresa (Pickett) Youngblood

Theresa (Pickett) Youngblood, 86, of Mountain Top, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at Kennedy University Hospital, Stratford, NJ.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late William and Frances (Wiernusz) Pickett.  She was a graduate of Wilkes-Barre Township High School. She was formerly a member of St. Jude’s Church, Mountain Top.

Prior to retiring, she was employed by Prestige Shoe Factory, Wilkes-Barre.

Theresa was a warm and caring person.  She had many friends in the Mountain Top area.  After her retirement, she spent many hours helping others.  She loved to read and listen to music.  Her grandchildren had a special place in her heart.

Her husband, Leo Youngblood, passed away in 1989.

Theresa is survived by her son, Leo Youngblood and his wife, Sharon, Wilkes-Barre; daughter Frances Pickett and her husband, Earl; grandsons Alex and David Pickett.

Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family from Kniffen O’Malley Funeral Home, 465 S. Main St., Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Twp. Condolences may be sent at www.KniffenFuneralHome.com.
