Tashandra Ann Nicole Burton, 19, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Monday evening, January 25, 2016 due to an automobile accident.

Born in Allentown on October 12, 1996, she was a daughter of Tami Burton of Wilkes-Barre.  She was a 2015 graduate of Meyers High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society, captain of the soccer team and volunteered as a tutor. She was elected 2014-2015 Homecoming Queen by her classmates.  She was currently attending Keystone College where she was studying Occupational Therapy.

Tashandra was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church, Wilkes-Barre.  She was employed by Schiel’s Family Market, Wilkes-Barre.  She enjoyed going for sushi with her friends.

Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Tami Burton, Wilkes-Barre; grandmother, Patricia Burton, Wilkes-Barre; brother Shane Burton, Wilkes-Barre; sister Morgan White, Wilkes-Barre; uncle Maurice Burton; godson Elijah Miller; a host of aunts, cousins, family and friends.

Homegoing Services will be held Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in Mount Zion Baptist Church, 105 Hill St., Wilkes-Barre, with the Reverend Michael Brewster officiating.  Interment will follow In Oak Lawn Cemetery, Hanover Township.

Friends may call Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church.

Anyone donating food for the Repass is asked to drop it off at the church.
