Sylvia Jean (Johnson) Jones, 74, of Archbald, went home to the Lord on Sunday, July 9th, 2017 at her residence.

Born in Washington D.C. on December 19, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Andrew & Alberta (Johnson) Evans.

Sylvia worked for Bank of America for 10 years as a customer service representative, she also served as a representative consultant for local government in Washington D.C.   She retired from Haband (Ritz) Company, Peckville, after 10 years of service.

Sylvia knew the Lord, she lived it and walked it.  She was a very active member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Wilkes-Barre.  She enjoyed teaching Sunday School, being a greeter and volunteering at the church.

She was preceded in death by her husband; Robert Elliot Jones, who passed in 1997, a sister, Llyome Maddox

Surviving her are her 2 loving daughters, Dellereece Cook, Scranton, Cherry I. Jones-Harris, Scranton, 3 loving sons, Ronneil J. Jones, Sr. and his wife, Tracy, Blakely, Robert W. Jones, Dickson City, Ryland M. Jones, his wife Barbara, Somerset, 10 grandchildren, Risan, Nasir, Ronneil Jr., Traon, Elijah, Isaiah, Ryland, Raynell, Rynika, Raynette, a brother, Ryland Johnson, 5 sisters, Shirley Benjamin, Valarie Jordon, Vervelverely Johnson, Margarite Tate, June Corley, All of Washington D.C., numerous nieces and nephews.

Home Going Services will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 10:00 AM in Mount Zion Baptist Church, 105 Hill Street, Wilkes-Barre, with Reverend Michael Brewster officiating.  Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hanover Township.

Viewing will be from 9:00 am till the time of the service at the church.
