Susan G. (Eveland) Gyle

Susan G. (Eveland) Gyle, 65, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia.

Born in Wilkes-Barre on September 26, 1949, she was a daughter of the late Vermont and Hilda (Scouten) Eveland.  She was a graduate of E.L. Meyers High School.

She was employed as a home health aide by Visiting Angels, Forty Fort.

Susan was a kind and caring woman with a heart of gold.  She was loved by all who knew her.  She loved animals, collecting antique dolls and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her great-granddaughter, Harmony Rayne.

Surviving are her childhood sweetheart and husband of 49 years, Wayne Gyle, Sr.; her seven children, Christina Wickham and husband, Charles, Wilkes-Barre; Kimberly Gyle-Rizzo and husband, Kerry, Exeter; Wayne Gyle, Jr. and wife, Maria, Inkerman; Holly Gyle and husband, John, Wilkes-Barre; David Gyle and wife, Tracy, Wilkes-Barre; Matthew Gyle, Wilkes-Barre; Eugene Gyle and wife, Diane, Nanticoke; sister, Virginia Nugent and husband, Sam, Philadelphia; brother Monty Eveland and wife, Nancy, Trucksville.

She also leaves behind 19 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly. She will be greatly missed and undoubtedly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Kniffen O’Malley Funeral Home, 465 S. Main St., Wilkes-Barre with the Reverend Anthony Vieney, pastor of Bethel A.M.E.
