Sophie A. (Jamilkoski) Starner, 98, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at Allied Services Meade Street Skilled Nursing, Wilkes-Barre.

Born in Wilkes-Barre on June 5, 1923, she was a daughter of the late George and Lottie (Kupneski) Jamilkoski.

Sophie worked as a seamstress in the garment industry for many years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Joseph Swartz and Donald Starner; son, Richard Swartz; daughter, JoAnn Snyder; brother, Stanley Jamilkoski; and sisters, Stella Jamikoski, Helen Wasley, Florence McGurk, Harriet Czajkowski and Janice Crawford.

Sophie is survived by her two grandsons, David and Dennis Karchin.

A graveside service will be held Monday at 11:00 AM at Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, 4115 Memorial Highway, Dallas. Please go directly to the cemetery if attending.
