Shirley Lewis

Shirley C. (Jackson) Lewis, 85, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Friday, October 24, 2020 at home surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Wilkes-Barre on July 29, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Elwood Jackson and Vergie (Tull) Jackson.

Shirley was a homemaker and spent many years raising her family. She loved watching sports, and spending time with family at gatherings. Shirley also loved singing and dancing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roosevelt Lewis and a daughter, Karen Ann Lewis, brother, Elwood Stanley Jackson, two sisters, Marion Lee Hill and Dolores Elizabeth Woods.

Left to cherish her memory are sons, Quincy Lewis, Wilkes-Barre, David Lewis and wife Linda, Scranton, Darren Lewis, Wilkes-Barre, Troy Lewis and wife Jill, Wilkes-Barre, Demetrius Lewis and wife Jessica, Lancaster; daughters, Felicia Warnick, Chicago Ill., Romaine Lewis Selby and husband Anthony, Wilkes-Barre; sister, Jean Ruth Jackson, Wilkes-Barre, a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren  and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made on the Funeral home website.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, October 29th at Kniffen O’Malley Leffler Funeral and Cremation Services, 465 South Main Street, Wilkes-Barre from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Interment will be private at Maple Hill Cemetery, Hanover Township.
