Sheila M. (Matthews) Pitts

Sheila M. (Matthews) Pitts, 58, of Avoca, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 5, at Hospice of the Sacred Heart Inpatient Unit, Dunmore.

Born on December 15, 1961 in Scranton, she was a daughter of Robert J. and Patricia J. (Albert) Matthews, Avoca.

She worked for Hertz at the Scranton/ Wilkes-Barre International Airport.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by two sons, Michael Matthews, Duryea and Russell McGlynn, Avoca, a grandson, Troy Matthews, two brothers, Kenneth and Thomas Matthews, both of Avoca, three sisters, Elaine O’Brien, Patricia Strelecki, both of Avoca, JoAnn Nayavich, West Wyoming, several nieces and nephews.

Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family in Langcliffe Cemetery, Avoca, with Pastor Margaret Zeigler officiating.
