Sheila Hall Harper was born on January 9, 1957 at Meadowbrook Hospital in East Meadow, NY, to Louise Finley and Thomas Hall. In her earlier years, Sheila resided in the Elmont, Hempstead and Roosevelt parts of Nassau County, Long Island. She eventually settled in the Long Beach area where she transitioned into adulthood.

Sheila explored many vocations and found her calling in the health and services profession. However, her deepest passion was shown in her commitment and service work to the program of Narcotics Anonymous.

Sheila's life was a testament to resilience, service and love. She started her recovery journey in Roosevelt, NY, where she joined her first home group "Back to Basics." It was this group that helped build her foundation and where she achieved 6 years of sobriety.

After relocating to Pennsylvania in 2005, Sheila created the "We Do Recover" home group, and for 20 years she continued her service in the Beehive Area in Wilkes-Barre, PA.

Her commitment to Narcotics Anonymous (NA) was unwavering and transformative. She played key roles at every level of the organization, holding positions such as: *Area Chair and Area Vice Chair* Group Chair* Secretary * GSR (Group Service Representative) *Regional Chairperson for the Beehive * H & L (Hospitals and Institutions) * Hospitality Coordinator * Treasurer

Her dedication to helping others in recovery never faltered, and she touched countless lives through her tireless efforts and compassionate spirit.

Sheila was also a beloved matriarch to her family. She leaves behind her husband Darrell Harper, daughter, Zakiya Akins; four grandchildren: Zachariah Lopez, Nubia Lopez, Nazir Samuels, and Malachi Akins-Tinson; and four great-grandchildren: Jaiyda Lopez Cody, Jaeliana Samuels, Kalesia Lopez, and Kaylyn Samuels.

She is survived by her siblings, Steven (Tracy), Thomas, Vivian, Darryl, Tina, Tim (Candace), Marty, Rosemary and Raymond; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members and FRIENDS who cherished her.
