Selby ‘Lebby’ K. Judge, 89, of Wilkes-Barre, Pa, transitioned to eternal rest on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at his home.
Born in James Island, SC, on December 8, 1935, he was the son of the late Amanda Judge Roper He was the oldest of three children.
Lebby spent his early years on the family farm, where he honed his athletic agility, quickness, and passion by running foot races against the horses he cared for. He has always been an avid recreational sports enthusiast excelling at tennis, roller-skating, racquetball, bowling, and golf. He shared those fun-filled experiences with his children, cousins, nieces, family and friends. His competitive nature earned him a substantial collection of bowling awards for perfect 300 games.
As a young teenager his family moved to New York City and after serving in the Air Force, he relocated to Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania where he met and married the late Eunice Jackson Judge. Their union produced four children –Pamela Judge Breese (Ronald), the late L. Craig, Yvette Judge, and Leslie Palmer (Ryan).
As a longtime member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, he served in numerous roles including groundskeeper, faithful choir member and Trustee (chairman for a number of years). He was a career employee at Inter Metro Industries where he worked hard, advancing into management before retiring. He was widely known for his dedication, strong work ethic and steady leadership.
He also volunteered for many local projects in the area. Selby dedicated many hours at CEO (Commission on Economic Opportunity) ie, their Annual Feed a Friend Project.
In 2020, he married Arlinda Williams Judge, who was his loving caregiver for him until his final days. He is also survived by his grandsons, Bradley Breese (fiancee, Nidia) and Austin Breese (Harper); great grandchildren, Sophia and Jalen Breese; sister, Julene Segee (Robert); cousins (Reeves), W. Gregory, Tonya, Frederica, and S. Rosalind; and numerous extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Verna Manigault; his favorite aunt who was like a sister, Jo Ann (Judge) Vaughters; and (step)father, St. Julian Roper.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, October 18, from 9AM-11AM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 105 Hill Street, Wilkes-Barre, with a service beginning at 11AM. Interment will immediately follow the service at Oak Lawn Cemetery, Hanover Twp.

He’s best described as someone who looked like an ordinary man but always did extraordinary things. The countless memories of his infectious humor, warm charisma, and Godly character remains in our hearts and minds, and will continue bringing joy to so many for years to come.
