Ruth B. (Bump) Powell

Ruth Ann (Bump) Powell, 89, of Nesquehoning, PA, passed away at home on January 4th, 2022.

Ruth was born in Wilkes-Barre on September 1, 1932. She married Richard Powell and raised her children in Mountain Top, PA. Known for her kind acts and generosity, she was very active as an organist at the Wesleyan Church in Mountain Top. She also volunteered her time playing piano at Sunday Services at Valley Crest nursing home in Wilkes-Barre for many years. She was light-hearted and a joy to all who knew her. In her later years, she lived quietly with her daughter Jane in Nesquehoning.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Richard and her son, Asher John Powell.

She is survived by daughter Elizabeth Comiskey and her husband, Jeff, daughter Cindy Shudak and her husband, Jim, daughter Jane Becker, and daughter-in-law Laurie Powell. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
