Richard “Rick” Rogers, 81, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Embassy of Wyoming Valley Nursing Home.

Born in Idetown on December 3, 1943, he was the son of the late Russell and Mary (Williams) Rogers.

Rick served his country in the United States Army. He loved restoring old cars and keeping himself busy by doing crafts at home. Rick always had a joke ready for any situation and loved to make people laugh.

He also spent a large portion of his life working for Wilkeswood Apartments as their maintenance contact.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Rita, Shirley, Mary Lou, and Barbara.

Rick is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Sis (Dunbar) Rogers, Wilkes-Barre; daughter, Tracy Rogers and husband, David Gyle, Wilkes-Barre; grandchildren, Sarah Gyle, Allentown, Alyssa Gyle, Wilkes-Barre and Aiden Gyle, Wilkes-Barre; brother, James Rogers and wife, Ginny, Dallas, and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects Wednesday from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM at Kniffen O’Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services, 465 S. Main St, Wilkes-Barre.

Rick's family would also like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Embassy Wyoming Valley Nursing Home for the support and care they provided him during his final days.
