RAYMOND I. BARNES, 75, husband of Haddie (Thornton) Barnes, and a resident of Wilkes-Barre, Pa. passed away peacefully on September 29, 2022.

He was born on March 5, 1947, son of the late William Barnes Sr. and Anna Mae Simpkins-Barnes. He retired as an airplane mechanic from the Tobyhanna Army Depot in Coolbaugh Twp. in 2013. He loved music and sports and was especially fond of fishing.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Barnes was preceded in death by his son, Mark Snopeck, brothers, William Barnes, Jr. and John S. Barnes, Sr.

Sisters, Georgetta Mealing, Anna Mae Taylor, and Carolyn Turner.

In addition to his spouse, Haddie (Thornton) Barnes, also left to cherish his memories are a brother, Rev. Robert A. Barnes; Sisters, Betty Daniels, Nancy Adams, Joan Childs, Marsha Barnes Riley (James); stepson, David; grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

At Mr. Barnes’ request there will be no services. Arrangements were entrusted to Kniffen O’Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., Wilkes Barre.”
