Ramiro Velez Herrera, 52, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away on November 27, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, after a brief illness.

Born in Oaxaca, Mexico on March 11, 1968, he was a son of the late Pablo Velez and Eligia Herrera.

Ramiro was hard working and enjoyed doing construction work.  He enjoyed listening to music and spending time with family.

He is survived is by his companion of 27 years, Soledad Mejia, a daughter, Sandra Gil, four sons, Brandon, Bryan, Erick and Akzel, two grandchildren, Alianny Gil and Nevaylie Hernandez, sisters Lucia Velez, Paula Velez, Judith Velez, and Nancy Velez and brothers, Juan Velez, Anicoto Velez, Gumaro Velez, Cesar Velez, and Jorge Velez, numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will celebrate a private memorial service.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Kniffen O’Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services, Wilkes-Barre.
