Preston A. Oleski

Preston A. Oleski, 27, of Duryea, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, August 24, 2026.

Born on March 7, 1999, in Kingston, Preston was the son of Michael Oleski and his wife, Tanya and Johanna Hindmarsh and her husband, Jamison. He graduated from Pittston Area High School and worked for The Lion Brewery, Pittston Township.

Preston was a member of the Excelsior Hose Company # 2, Station 226, Duryea for over 9 years. He enjoyed dirt-track racing and spending time with his cousin, Brandon, on and off the track, they were the best of friends. He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Yankees and Penn State. Above all, He shared a particularly special bond with his grandmother, with whom he spoke by telephone every day. Preston will be remembered for being hard working and his dedication to helping others.

In addition to his parents, Preston is survived by his brother, Cody MacDonald of Pittston; his step-sister, Brianna Oveson, and her husband, Kristian, Beal AFB, CA, his maternal grandfather, Joseph MacDonald, of Pittston, his paternal grandmother, Patricia Oleski , Scranton; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his aunt, Carol Oleski; his uncle, Garfield Tuttle; his maternal grandmother; Hilda MacDonald.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 7 p.m. Family and friends may call Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Kniffen O'Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services, 728 Main Street, Avoca.
