Poti J. Dukas, 92, of Edwardsville, passed away Wednesday, August 9, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Kingston on March 30, 1925, he was a son of the late James and Susan (Lasco) Dukas.
Poti proudly served his country in the United States Army Air Corps and was inducted in the active duty in October of 1944. He later entered into the United States Air Force reserves and retired at the rank of Major. Poti was also employed by the United States Postal Service in Philadelphia, as a supervisor, until his retirement.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Roberts and brothers, Alkie, Constantine and Louis Dukas.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 57 years, Sophie (Gorgol) Dukas and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:00 A.M. from Kniffen O’Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 465 S. Main St. Wilkes-Barre. Family and friends may visit from 9:00-10:00 A.M.
Officiating will be Father Gabriel Nicholas from the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, Wilkes-Barre.
Interment with military honors will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas.
